118 is different by 2 from 120. So is 122. No difference in terms of distance. Yet, I inexplicably feel that 122 is closer to 120 than 118. I wouldn't be the only person who feels this way.

Workers are building a garage in front of my window. It is just 3 or 4 feet from the window of my room. Light can narrowly get into my room. But, a view from the window has completely gone. You would think the garage sucks. I would think a different way.

My room is on the first floor. So I was at risk of being peeked at, when I was doing something inappropriate. Now the garage protects me from peep. Yeah, you'd think the garage sucks if you're peepers. And I wouldn't because it serves as a convenient blind.
